An audiobook by a Pallottine priest and doctor of theology of spirituality. Father Ireneusz Łukanowski, written in cooperation with Ms Barbara Zielonka. The subject is the issue of suffering and faith, and the audiobook contains selected excerpts from the book of the same title.
Faith and suffering are inextricably linked with each other. Numerous studies show that people who believe in something are better able to cope with the sufferings and hardships of life than are those who remain alone with their inner emptiness.
Reflections and conversations between the co-authors while working together resulted in creation of this ‘handbook’ of suffering, which includes a theological explanation of and reflections on faith and suffering, as well as devotions, prayers, and practical information such as: how to behave in the hospital, how to help a dying person, and the role of the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick and the Viaticum.
The audiobook is not only theoretical; it also contains testimonies of patients on how they went through their sufferings together with Christ, and how He came to their aid, changing their lives.
The text has also been enriched with selected poems by Jolanta Wisniewska.
