"Film music was my first love".
This was a truly exciting conversation that I had some time ago with Dirk Brossé, who - when it comes to film music but not only - is one of the most eminent conductors in the world.
This episode is a story of his love for film music and working with Sinfonietta Cracovia on a project "Kilar 90".
Dirk Brossé is a great composer and phenomenal conductor who has always impressed me with his feel and understanding for music and the way he is able to inspire people to collaborate and co create art.
We are very happy every time he finds space and time to visit Poland – like this year on Festiwal Muzyki Filmowej in Kraków.
We talked in Ghent, Belgium, during Sinfonietta Cracovia tour in Belgium.
And here is the program of this tournée:
Orawa (Kilar)
I Loved You (Brossé)
Suite from The Hours (Glass)
Certain Light from The Portrait of a Lady (Kilar)
Polonaise from Pan Tadeusz (Kilar)
Vocalise from The Ninth Gate (Kilar)
To the Unknown Soldier (Brossé)
The Brides from Bram Stoker's Dracula (Kilar)
Suite from Dracula (Glass)
Ode an die Freude - recomposed (Brossé)
Joanna Radziszewska-Sojka (sopran)
Aleksander Dębicz (fortepian)
