The Sherlock Holmes Halloween Special (The Vampire of Düsseldorf, Episode 1)

London, 1931: A chemical experiment turns Baker Street into a scene of devastation – and Alice takes her revenge in her own way, with Holmes's cigar and two cleaning buckets. But a newspaper item about a new film awakens a memory in Dr Watson that still keeps him awake at night. A year earlier, Detective Superintendent Ernst Gennat of Berlin had asked Sherlock Holmes for help: a killer is at large in Düsseldorf whom the police cannot catch, despite every effort. That same day Holmes and Watson set off – via Dover and a stormy English Channel, towards a case that will change them.
