The Girl on the Boat is a humorous novel by P. G. Wodehouse. Red-haired, dog-loving Wilhelmina "Billie" Bennett has her fair share of men who admire her : Bream Mortimer, a long-time suitor of Billie; Eustace Hignett, a shy lyricist who is intimidated by his heavy-handed mother but secretly betrothed to Billie at the beginning of the story; Sam Marlowe, Eustace's flamboyant cousin, who falls in love with Billie at first sight. They all find themselves together on an ocean liner sailing for England. Also, on board is a talented young woman, Jane Hubbard… Hilarious turns take place, but is there a happy conclusion for everyone involved?
