The Firefighter's Hands is loosely based on Major Allen Hill's experience as a first responder during the Oklahoma City Bombing. It is a touching, beautifully illustrated, children's story that delicately presents the concepts of Heaven, grief, and heroism. Major Hill is a real life superhero who: won a gold medal in the World Police & Fire Games; was a beachmaster for underwater firefighter rescues; and retired with the rank of Major. Over his 35 years with the OKC Fire Department, Allen has been involved with hundreds of rescues. Now, as a grandfather of four, he has entered the world of authoring children's books that are sure to warm your heart. The BFA Series name is derived from Isaiah 61:3 which states that Christ came to earth to bring us beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for grieving.
