"Eventually, everyone gets what they deserve."
This statement is familiar to all of us. However, life sometimes seems unfair. How can it be that the arrogant colleague, who treats everyone badly, still has success and climbs the career ladder? How can it be that the mother, who always gives cake to all the neighbors, loses her child? How can it be that I let my new partner treat me badly and take advantage of me again, even though I promised myself to stay strong after the last failed relationship? Some people attribute these life events to fate, reward, or punishment. However, Buddhism offers a different explanation: Karma.
There are connections like ""Do good, and good will come to you"" or ""Karma has no expiration date."" That sounds tempting, doesn't it? It is. Because the concept of karma helps us to categorize the above examples, understand the course of life, and recognize justice. But what exactly is karma? What statements does Buddhism make? How does karma affect our lives?
