Greek Mythology Love Stories for Adults

You came to Greek myth through the romance novels, and now you want the originals. But every collection you open reads like a textbook, and the love stories get two paragraphs each before the book moves on to another war.

This audiobook gives you eleven Greek love myths as full stories, one per chapter, each opening with the lovers themselves speaking. You hear Orpheus bargain for Eurydice, Psyche light the lamp over Eros, Alcyone wait on the shore for Ceyx, and Achilles refuse to leave the body of Patroclus. Every god and mortal is introduced inside the tale, so you can start anywhere and follow it from the first line. A warm comic myth like Baucis and Philemon follows a tragic one, and the pursuit stories of Daphne and Echo are told from the inside, with the women's fear and choices given real weight.

By the last chapter the names in your favorite retellings feel like people you have met. Press play on the first story, and stay for Orpheus.
