Brazilian Portuguese for Beginners: The Complete A1 Audio Course

Your first conversation in Brazil starts with two words – and this course gets you there. Michele Cavalcante is a Brazilian teacher who built her own method over hundreds of lessons. She speaks every phrase slowly, repeats it, and leaves you room to say it out loud. She explains in plain English what trips learners up, and she never lets a rule stay abstract: every form comes with a sentence you could actually use. The course starts at the very beginning. The alphabet, with a Brazilian example for every letter. Greetings for friends and for strangers, how to say thank you as a man or as a woman, how to apologise and how to ask someone to repeat. Your name, your age, where you are from. Numbers, days, months and the seasons as Brazilians actually live them. From there it opens out. The two verbs that everything depends on, taken apart form by form. The present, the past and the future. Articles, adjectives, diminutives and augmentatives. Question words, and the dialogues that put them to work: meeting someone new, shopping for clothes, ordering in a restaurant and splitting the bill. And running through all of it, the country itself. Street food and beach drinks, holidays and traditions, the animals, the music and the places worth travelling to. Almost twelve hours of audio, spoken by someone who grew up with the language and teaches it for a living.
